Course Description

This course, designed for health care professionals, reviews the recent updates to the NYSDOH AIDS Institute HIV Clinical Guidelines for Oral Health. This course contains two parts, an audio presentation with slides and a separate quiz. You must complete both parts to receive credit.

  1. Describe the signs and symptoms of HIV infection
  2. Explain antiretroviral treatment for HIV infection.
  3. List pretreatment considerations for HIV/AIDS patients undergoing dental procedures.

  • Each slide is tracked by the system. You can take a break from the course at any time. When you return to the course you will begin where you last left off.
  • To receive DCE/CE credit, you must pass the quiz with a score of 80% or higher. You are given two attempts to pass the quiz.
  • You must complete the course evaluation to receive DCE/CE credit.
  • You must advance each slide manually. Use the Forward/Backward buttons or click on a slide thumbnail to navigate the presentation (see screenshot).
