Presenter Bio
Alvaro Carrascal, MD, MPH, is the Senior Vice President of Cancer Control, American Cancer Society.
Dr. Carrascal received his MPH from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, and his Doctor in Medicine and Surgery (M.D.) from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia.
Starting 2007, Dr. Carrascal was the Director of HIV and Hepatitis Health Care Division at the AIDS Institute, NYSDOH. He was responsible for policy formulation, program planning, directing resource allocation, program evaluation, and management of professional staff.
Beginning 1991 Dr. Carrascal served in the Department of Health’s AIDS Institute, dealing with disease management, access to health care and prevention, clinical education, outreach, collaboration and partnerships with clinical care providers.
